Graves Squad Captures Senior Swiss
The team captained by Allan Graves came from behind to win the 74 team final of the Alan Truscott/U.S. Playing Card Senior Swiss Teams. Their total of 134.41 victory points was just 2.07 more than the runner-up team captained by Geoffrey Brod.

Dutch Duo Wins LM Pairs
Jan Jansma and Ricco Van Prooijen of the Netherlands posted the top-score in the von Zedtwitz Life Master Pairs, winning the three-day contest by almost a full board. Each has frequently represented their home country in international play, but they have rarely played together as a partnership.

In second was the U.S. pair of Eric Greco and Geoff Hampson.
In the Bruce Life Master-5000 Pairs, the winners are Californians Steve Johnson and Mark Teaford.
The Young Life Master-1500 Pairs was won by the California partnership of Ken Llacera and Mick Friedberg.

District 9 Defends Grand National Crown
The District 9 team captained by Mike Becker led from start to finish in scoring a second straight win in the Grand National Teams, Championship Flight, knocking off the District 25 squad led by Frank Merblum 125 74.

The winners, all from Florida, are Becker, Warren Spector, Jeff Meckstroth, Eric Rodwell, David Berkowitz and Larry Cohen.
The runners up are the New England sextet of Merblum, John Stiefel, Lloyd Arvedon, Victor King, Doug Doub and Sheila Gabay.

Flight A: The New York-based District 24 team of James Scott, Harry Apfel, John Ramos, Kelley Hwang, Valentin Carciu, and Sorin Pleacof.

Youth NABC Big Hit!
This unprecedented event was attended by 198 children and young adults. Players representing 21 U.S. states and three Canadian provinces were in Atlanta to play bridge and make new friends.

The Atlanta volunteers did a magnificent job of keeping up with the youngsters and keeping the tournament running smoothly. Everywhere you looked the young players were chatting with each other, playing games and (of course) talking about bridge hands.
